Spend time mentoring.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And IT IS selfish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Sure I help someone else
But the way it makes me feel
Like I matter in someone’s life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It feels significant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
So I did it again just last week.
I met with a super smart computer science student.
But at a small liberal arts college in northern VT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Which means\u2026
\u2192 No recruitment
\u2192 Hard to make connections
\u2192 Hard to know how to stand out<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We had a fantastic conversation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was able to help him learn:
\u2192 Who in the industry is hiring
\u2192 How to stand out from his peers
\u2192 What he needs to do to get hired<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was able to make introductions to hiring managers too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It was 90 minutes out of my day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But it gives me an enormous sense of fulfillment.
\u21b3 To help the next generation find their path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
